Mentoring

Maigen has over 19 years of clinical experience and specialises in the assessment and management of adults with dysphagia (swallowing disorders). She has extensive experience across acute, rehabilitation, community, and aged care settings, with a particular interest in complex dysphagia management and instrumental swallowing assessments. In addition to her clinical expertise, Maigen has extensive experience providing clinical supervision and mentoring to speech pathologists, as well as dysphagia competency assessment and   clinician development.

Mentoring is designed for speech pathologists seeking practical, evidence-based guidance to build confidence in adult dysphagia assessment, clinical decision-making, report writing, and management planning. Whether you are a new graduate, an early career clinician, transitioning into adult practice, returning to the area after a career break, or an experienced speech pathologist seeking support with complex cases, mentoring is tailored to your individual learning goals.

Mentoring can support you with:

  • Adult dysphagia assessment and management
  • Clinical reasoning and complex case discussions
  • VFSS interpretation and translating findings into clinical practice
  • Mealtime management plans and recommendations
  • Dysphagia competency assessment and accreditation preparation
  • Transitioning into adult practice
  • Clinical supervision and professional development

Sessions are available on either a regular or ad hoc basis. Please contact us to discuss your learning needs and determine whether mentoring is the right fit for you.
